The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1980, the Senate Committee on Personnel, Retirement, and Collective Bargaining (1980-present) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  The Committee reviewed legislation on state and local government retirement systems and employee benefits; collective bargaining; equal employment opportunity; job training; and personnel management.  Prior to 1980, its functions were exercised by:  the Senate Committee on Personnel, Retirement, and Claims (1970-1973); the Senate Committee on Way and Means (1973-1976); the Senate Committee on Personnel, Retirement, and Collective Bargaining (1976-1978); and the Senate Committee on Ways and Means (1978-1980). These Committees also reviewed claims or relief bills; since 1980, the Senate Committee on Finance, Taxation and Claims has reviewed claims.
