	Biographical/Historical:	In 1973, the Senate Committee on Governmental Operations (1973-present) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation on state and local government organization and operations. Earlier committees that handled these functions were: Senate Committee on Governmental Reorganization (1964-1968); Senate Committee on Governmental Organization (1968-1970); and Senate Committee on Governmental Efficiency (1970-1972).
	Summary:	This series contains the records of the Senate Committee on Governmental Operations and includes: bill files; meeting files; and subject files. These records document legislation concerning state and local government organization and operations, administrative agencies, state office buildings, and open government sunset reviews. Some of the subject files include reference materials from 1969 to 1972 of the earlier committees, the Senate Committee on Governmental Efficiency and the Senate Committee on Governmental Organization. This series also includes records from the Senate Government Efficiency Task Force (2007-2008).
