	Biographical/Historical:	In 1980, the Senate Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Claims Committee became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation which substantially affects taxes, tax structure, revenue, fees, exemptions, and considers all claims or relief bills.
	Summary:	This series contains records of Senate Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Claims (1981-1994), Finance and Taxation (1999-2004, 2007-2011), Workgroup on Preserving the Tobacco Settlement (2000), Conference Committee on Preserving the Tobacco Settlement (2002), and Finance and Tax (2015-2016, 2019-2023). The records document legislation on taxation, the tax structure, revenue, fees, and exemptions. It also documents the decisions made regarding claims or relief bills filed by individuals seeking compensation for adverse action by a governmental agency.
