The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1968, the Senate Committee on Education became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation on all aspects of education including school management, school organization, elementary education, secondary education, school finance, teacher certification, vocational education, and postsecondary education.
Summary:     The series contains the records of the Committee on Education (1969-2006), Select Committee on Functional Literacy (1976), Select Committee on Teacher Certification (1979), Select Committee on State University Admission Standards (1981), Select Subcommittee on Charter Schools (1999-2000), School Safety Task Force Meeting (1999), Select Committee on State University Admission Standards (1981), Committee on Education PreK-12 (2007-2010), and the Committee on Higher Education (2009-2010). The records include bill files, meeting files, correspondence, and subject files. The records document legislation on school management, school organization, elementary education, secondary education, school finance, teacher certification, vocational education, and postsecondary education.
