Biographical/Historical:     In 1988, the Senate Committee on Economic, Professional, and Utility Regulation (1988-1990) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  The Committee reviewed legislation on economic development, community development, comprehensive planning, public utility regulation, occupational licensing, and professional regulation.  It assumed some of the functions of the Senate Committee on Economic, Community, and Consumer Affairs (1976-1988).  In 1990, its functions were divided between the Senate Committee on Professional Regulation and the Senate Committee on International Trade, Economic Development, and Tourism.
Summary:     The series contains the records of the Senate Committee on Economic, Professional, and Utility Regulation from 1988 to 1990. The records include bill files and meeting files.  The records document legislation on economic development, community development, comprehensive planning, public utility regulation, occupational licensing, and professional regulation.
