The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1990, the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. The Committee reviews legislation pertaining to criminal law and procedure; sentencing guidelines, the death penalty; gun control; law enforcement; public defenders; and states attorneys.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Committee on Criminal Justice (1973-1974, 1991-2022), Judiciary-Criminal (1971-1972; 1975-1990), Select Committee on Juvenile Justice Reform (1993-1994), and the Select Committee on Protecting Florida's Children (2011). The records include bill files, meeting files, subject files, and correspondence. The Committee reviews legislation on criminal law and procedure, sentencing guidelines, the death penalty, public defenders, states attorneys, gun control, and law enforcement.
