The Committee assumed the community affairs functions of the Senate Committee on Economic, Community, and Consumer Affairs (1976-1988). The Committee reviews legislation on local governments and intergovernmental relations; building codes and standards; housing; emergency preparedness; handicapped accessibility; veterans affairs; community development; comprehensive and regional planning; and growth management.
