Biographical/Historical:     The Volusia County Board of Health was organized in Enterprise, Florida on June 7, 1887 by the authority of Governor E. A. Perry. The original board was made up of J. H. Long, M.D., president; J. E. Farber, M.D., secretary; John Sauls, M.D., J. H. Bodine, and G. F. Carlisle.  The Volusia County Board of Health was organized to take action to prevent yellow fever by quarantine.  The initial quarantine officers were appointed for Titusville, Enterprise, Enterprise Junction, and Mosquito Inlet.
Summary:     This series contains the minutes of the Volusia County Board of Health for part of 1887.  The minutes document six months of the Board's existence, including actions taken, topics discussed, bills paid, and other activities.
