Summary:     The series contains the cash receipts and disbursement journals from 1895 to 1971 of the Florida State Hospital and its predecessor,  the Florida Hospital for the Insane.  The earlier ledgers contain both the receipts and disbursements, listing the date and from whom received or to whom paid.  The information becomes more detailed in the ledgers dated from 1935 to 1971 and the receipts and disbursements are contained in separate ledgers.  Also listed are the dates, from whom money was received or paid, and the balance. There are some gaps in the dates between 1895 and 1971.
