Summary:     The series contains the account book of the pay patients at the Florida Hospital for the Insane from 1901 to 1917.  When a patient was committed to the hospital, it was determined whether that patient's family possessed means to pay for care and maintenance. If this were the case, quarterly payments were sent to the State Treasurer's Office.  If payments were not made, the Board of Commissioners of State Institutions could have a patient removed from the hospital.  A resolution by the Attorney General required the Superintendent of the hospital to keep a complete list of all pay patients.  The account book lists the name of the patient and the date of each payment, as well as the amount and balance.
