The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Bureau on Aging began operating as part of the Division of Family Services in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).  The Bureau on Aging continued the work of the Florida Commission on Aging which was established in 1963 (Ch. 63-461, Laws).  The Bureau administered federal funds and coordinated programs for the elderly at the state and local level.
Summary:     This series contains the administrative files dated from 1963 to 1972 which were maintained by the Bureau on Aging and its predecessor agency, the Florida Commission on Aging.  The records include correspondence, grant applications, minutes, conference reports, and other supporting materials.
