Summary:     This series contains State Health Officer, Dr. Wilson T. Sowder's memoranda files for the years 1945-1974.  These memoranda were generally sent to the directors of County Health Departments, Bureaus, Divisions, and Branch Laboratories.  They pertain to matters of Board policy and were intended to keep the statewide organization abreast of current developments.  In addition, the correspondence and memoranda of Dr. E. Charlton Prather for 1975 are included.  Dr. Prather became the State Health Officer upon Dr. Sowder's retirement in 1974.
