Summary:     This series contains the children's medical services correspondence from 1969 to 1975 maintained by the Office of the Secretary, Dept. of Health and Rehabilitative Services.  The records document the interaction of the Secretary with the Division of Children's Medical Services, and its predecessor agency, the Bureau of Crippled Children.  The Division coordinated services which included the protection, care, and guidance of children in troubled homes and of dependent children.  It also was responsible for foster home care and adoption placement services.  In addition to correspondence, the records include memoranda and reports.
