The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     The series documents the appointments made and resignations accepted by Governor Reubin O'D. Askew from 1971 to 1978.  It contains the appointments to state boards, county offices, judicial circuit judges, district court of appeals judges, and junior college boards.  Interspersed throughout the appointments are resignations from various appointed officials.  The folders containing the information from the nominating commission's are a good source of dates for appointments and resignations.
    The miscellaneous appointment material box contains press releases concerning appointments from 1975 - 1978, Senate appointment approval letters, legal correspondence concerning appointments and correspondence concerning the appointment of the Insurance Commissioner and State Treasurer.  In addition, there are two separate boxes of resignation letters for state and county officials.
