The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     The series documents the process of developing a school cost accounting and reporting system by each school district in accordance with standards established by the Department of Education (Chapter 73-345, Section 11, Laws of Florida).  Each school district developed a computer program to calculate the school expenditures of all funds for 1973-1976. The program was then submitted to the Department for review and approval.  The Department also developed its own program for improvement of accounting and reporting of cost data on a state-wide compatible basis.
    The series contains approval letters from the Department of Education; district aggregate program reports for operating funds; and correspondence between the officers of the Department of Education and school board members concerning the development and implementation of the system.  Files for some counties also include the program documentation for the cost accounting and reporting system.
NOTE: There is no file in the following twelve counties: Citrus County, Hernando County, Indian River County, Lake County, Marion County, Martin County, Okeechobee County, Osceola County, St. Lucie County, Seminole County, Sumter County, and Volusia County.
