The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The State Agricultural Advisory Council was created in 1959 (Ch. 59-54, Laws) to advise the Commissioner of Agriculture on the administration and enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations relating to agriculture.  It recommends changes in law, investigates violations of law, submits drafts of new legislation as necessary, and recommends new departmental policy.  The council members are appointed by the Commissioner of Agriculture and consist of a single citizen-at-large and thirty-two members.  The members are producers or growers who are engaged in the agricultural areas of apiary, aquaculture, animal industies, citrus fruits, fertilizers, farm crops, forestry, horticulture, poultry, produce trade, and seed industries.
