The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Local Government Records record group contains a limited amount of materials from various county and municipal governments.  The records include probate, tax, voting, and commission records of different city, town, and county agencies.  The State Archives does not actively collect local government public records and encourages the preservation of these materials by the agencies that create them.  Many of these local records are of particular value to patrons engaged in genealogical research.
