State Archives of Florida Online Catalog

The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. 	Biographical/Historical Note:	The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles was established under Section 20.24, Florida Statutes. The head of the department is the executive director, who is appointed by the Governor. The department is comprised of the Division of Motor Vehicles, which provides registration and title services; the Division of Driver Licenses, which provide vehicle licensing services; and the Florida Highway Patrol, which provides public safety and law enforcement services on Florida's highways.
