Biographical/Historical Note:     The Convention to Ratify a Proposed Amendment to the Constitution of the United States to Repeal the Eighteenth Amendment (prohibition of the manufacture, importation, and sale of alcohol in the United States) was called by the Florida legislature to consider the adoption of the Twenty-First Amendment (Ch. 16180, Laws of Florida, 1933).  The Convention convened in the Chamber of the House of Representatives in Tallahassee on November 14, 1933.  Sixty seven delegates representing Florida's counties were elected to the convention, although only sixty three attended.  The convention was called to order by the Chairman, R. A. Gray, Secretary of State, and the delegates elected Robert H. Anderson, President of the Florida Repeal Association, as President.  The resolution to repeal the Eighteenth Amendment was passed unanimously that same day.
