The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Department of Pollution Control was created in 1971 (Ch. 71-22, Laws of Florida).  It assumed the duties of the Department of Air and Pollution Control (Ch. 69-106, Laws).  The Department of Pollution Control was responsible for the development of programs for the prevention, abatement, and control of solid waste disposal and air, noise and water pollution.  It issued and enforced orders necessary to ensure compliance with these programs.  Its duties were transferred to the Department of Environmental Regulation in 1975 (Ch. 75-22, Laws).
