The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical Note:     The Division of Public Schools and Community Education was created in 1975 (Ch. 75-302, Laws of Florida) as the Division of Public Schools, succeeding the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education, which had been created in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).  The division's mission is to ensure the greatest possible efficiency, effectiveness, and coordination of education in grades kindergarten through twelve.
