Title: AMH to TRS, 14 June 1864, "On the Field [North of Marietta, Ga.]" Describes death and burial of RGS, "He was killed while on skirmish duty in front of our lines on the morning of 28th May," calls RGS "bold, gallant and fearless," tried to have body sent to Quincy for burial but it was impossible to obtain transportation, Major Weekly had grave dug and headboard placed over grave, grave is located on the Marietta and Dallas road, he has RGS's pipe and will forward it home as soon as possible.
